week 5. Skip chapter 6. Read chapter 7 superficially.
Monday 13-15: chapter 8.1
Friday 8-10: chapter 8.2-8.4 Friday 10-12: exercises

week 6. Skip chapter 9. Monday 13-15: chapter 10
Monday 15-17: exercises
Friday 8-10: chapter 10

week 7. Monday 13-15: chapter 11

Homework

I expect you to hand in at least two problems each week. These problems will give partial credit in the examination. Hand in one set of exercises every week following the plan of the lectures.

week 2: Choose one from chapter 2 and one from the appendix. Hand in Friday September 12.

week 3: Choose two from chapter 3. Hand in Monday September 22.

week 4: Choose two from chapter 5. Suggested: 5.5, 5.6, 5.7

week 5: Choose two from chapter 8. Suggested: 8.1, 8.4, 8.5, 8.6, 8.7, 8.8, 8.10, 8.14

week 6: Choose two from chapter 10. Suggested: 10.1, 10.4(a), 10.5, 10.6, 10.7. Hand in Monday week 7.

week 7: Choose two from chapter 11. Suggested: 11.1, 11.3, 11.4, 11.10, 11.13. Hand in Monday week 8.

I will also appreciate if you report mistakes and misprints in the textbook and make suggestions for improvement, especially new exercises.
