week 4.
No lectures this week. Read chapters 5, 7.

week 5.
Monday: chapter 6 (skip 6.2) (lecturer: Nils Svanstedt). Here are improved versions Theorems 6.4 and 13.1.

Homework

The examination will be based on homework assignments and a written exam. I expect you to hand in one problem from each chapter that we study. Hand them in the week after the lectures on that chapter. Put them in a box outside my office. I may make some more specific problem assignments here later on.

chapter 5.: : 5.1, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 5.9, 5.10

I will also appreciate if you report mistakes and misprints in the textbook and make suggestions for improvement, especially new exercises.
