Examination

The requirement of the course is to master
Chapters 1-5 and parts A-K in Section 1 of Chapter 9
 in  Williams: Weighing the Odds.

The written examination has six problems with a maximum
of 5 credit points for a fully satisfactory solution, so the
maximal total is 30 credit points.

The grade limits are as follows.

For Chalmers students:
grade                3         4         5
credit points    14        19       24

For GU students:
grade               G         VG
credit points    14          22
(G: Godkänd = Passed, VG: Väl Godkänd = Passsed with Distinction).

Facilities: dictionaries only (but no encyclopedias!)

The written exams take place in the mornings of
Friday, December 18, 2009,
Saturday, January 16, 2010.

For participants that have not been able to attend the written
exams for some good reason, there will be a possibility for
an oral exam in the Easter exam period 2009.

Earlier examinations, with short solutions:
December 2007
January  2008

December 2008
January 2009
December 2009
January 2010

On request: here are a few of the examination sheets from the course
"Sannolikhetsteorins Grunder". But I am a bit reluctant to have them
on the net: the character of that course was quite different from our new
course; it was narrower, hence more attention could be spent on each topic
.
