Examination rules
To pass the whole course one has to succeed with both
the computer project part (separately registered at LADOK for 1.5 p), click here to learn more about the computer projects,
and the theoretical part (6.0 p).
Grading system for the theoretical part
on the ordinary exam: one can collect up to 50 marks (max 30 for solving the exam questions and max 20 bonus marks for solving home assignment problems, see below),
on a re-exam: one can collect max 30 for solving the exam question (no bonus marks),
to pass the theoretical part on the ordinary exam one has to get at list 24 marks including bonus marks,
to pass the theoretical part on a re-exam one has to get at least 12 marks.
Bonus marks
students work on home assignment problems in teams of 2 or 3 students
for the solution to be accepted the student must participate in the corresponding exercise class,
for each problem a randomly chosen student (among those claiming they worked through this problem) has to present a solution in the class,
every problem with an accepted solution gives 0.4 bonus points.
Example: 40 accepted problems give 16 bonus marks and it is enough to get just 8 marks on the final exam to pass the theoretical part.
Cheat sheet:
on the final exam the students will get two 2-sided A4-pages with a course digest.
This digest should be put together by the students themselves and send to Serik as a pdf file before December 12, 2012.
