Spatial and Spatio-temporal Models in Science, Engineering and Medicine
- A Smögen Workshop August 16-20, 2010.
This workshop was organized by the Stochastic Centre in Gothenburg and the
organizing committe consisted of Arnoldo Frigessi, Igor Rychlik and
Aila Särkkä. The workshop was jointly organised by
and directed to Gothenburg and Oslo based researchers.
Our main idea was to bring together the group in Gothenburg and
the group in Oslo, which work in related topics. The common
interests cover areas like spatial and spatio-temporal models,
interaction models, random fields inference (MCMC and non-MCMC),
and fatique. Application areas vary from infectious diseases, weather and
climate, fish populations and forestry to waves, material science and oil
reservoirs.
The workshop took place in
Smögen which is a
small fishing-village in the archipelago on
the Swedish west coast 150 km north of Gothenburg.
