Percolation, Particle Systems and Ergodic Theory

Göteborg, October 26 - 31, 1997.

During the fall of 1997, the Stochastic Center in Göteborg, Sweden, organized a large guest program in the areas of percolation, particle systems, and ergodic theory. The program culminated in the last week of October with a workshop devoted to the same theme. The workshop began on Sunday, October 26, at 10:30, and continued until Friday, October 31, at 17:00. It took place at Matematiskt Centrum, Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg.

The workshop focused on the areas indicated in the title, but also on other areas within discrete probability. Special attention was paid to probability problems motivated and inspired by questions from statistical physics. There were only invited talks, leaving plenty of time for informal discussions.
