This is the first part of a 2 credit points project course on Computational/Engineering Mathematics. The course is designed for the first year students in "Chemical Engineering with Engineering Physics" program and spread in all 4 periods of the year. Period 1 consists of 14 lecture hourse introducing some basis of computational mathematics.

During the first period will not follow a particular text. However, copies of my lecture notes will be available.
Week 1: Induction, trigonometry,
Week 2: Arithmetic and geometric series, bisection
Week 3: Recursive sequences, limit,
continuity, fixed-point iterations
Week 4: Hypotetical computer, machine epsilon,
floating point arithmetic
Week 5: Derivative, sensitivity analysis,
primitive functions
Week 6: Introduction to linear algebra,
vectors, scalar-vector and tripple products
Week 7: Linear equation system, Gauss
elimination algorithm
