This workshop will take place on June 21-25, 2004 at the Nordic School of Public Health in Göteborg, Sweden. The program will focus (mainly) on the topics indicated in the title, and will contain invited talks only. Talks will begin in the morning of Monday, June 21 (so participants are normally expected to arrive Saturday or Sunday), and the program ends on Friday, June 25, before lunchtime. See the detailed schedule below.
There is no conference fee. Hotel and meals will be arranged at a total cost of around 800 SEK (100 EUR) per day. The deadline for registrations passed on May 1.
The workshop is an official satellite conference of the Fourth European Congress of Mathematics, which takes place in Stockholm, beginning two days after the workshop. Stockholm is an easy three-hour train ride away from Göteborg.
The workshop is financed by the European Science Foundation programme RDSES (Phase Transitions and Fluctuation Phenomena for Random Dynamics in Spatially Extended Systems) and by the Stochastic Centre at Chalmers.
